BAYOMBONG, Nueva Vizcaya — A four-year-old boy died while his brother
and father were seriously injured when their tricycle collided with two
vehicles in here July 14.
Jeremy Costales died at the scene while his father Jeron, 41, and
brother Jerson, 2, were taken to a hospital for treatment.
Reports said that a sport utility vehicle driven by Allan Jake Vargas,
23, tried to overtake in Barangay Busilac, causing him to hit the tricycle
driven by Jeron with his two sons on board.
The impact threw the tricycle into the opposite lane, causing it to be
hit by another SUV driven by Sylvester Tugguin, 58, of the Nueva Vizcaya
police.
Vargas and Tugguin were taken to the police station for questioning.
On the same day, security guard Ariel Alvarez, 20, died in a collision
involving two motorcycles in Ilagan City, Isabela.
Alvarez was driving a motorcycle in Barangay San Juan at around 1 p.m.
when he was hit by another motorcycle driven by village councilman Edwin
Taggueg, who reportedly tried to overtake.
Taggueg surrendered to responding police officers.
