Cop’s riders hurt; driver escapes, nabbed


  
TABUK CITY, Kalinga – Five persons were hurt when a Mitsubishi Pajero and Nissan Frontier collided here Tuesday around 10:p.m. along the provincial  road fronting Ballog residence here at Purok 1, Bulanao.
The Pajero was owned and driven by Drexel Jay Sagban Bog-acon, 31, Philippine National Police member and a resident of Purok 1, Bulanao, Tabuk City, Kalinga while the Frontier was owned by Jimmy A. Balayan of Camalagui 1st Ilagan, Isabela under the care of Ruben Ambasing and driven by Elymar Cosidon Ambasing, 30 of Purok 6, Bulanao.
Investigation disclosed the Frontier encroached  the lane of the Pajero causing head-on collision.
Bog-acon was wounded on his right eye while his face had abrasions while his passengers namely: Dysha-ine, 3 and and Anna Sagban, 65, both surnamed Bog-acon were hurt on their faces.
Also injured were Bog-acon’s passengersRosemarie Wingnga, 62, who had contusion on her right temple and left foot while Alfredo Wingnga, 62, was hurt  on his feet.
They were all were rushed to Kalinga Provincial Hospital for treatment.
The driver of the Frontier escaped after the incident but was chased and stopped by concerned citizens.
Ambasing was arrested by responding police officers then brought to Kalinga Provincial Hospital for examination where it was found he was intoxicated.
The suspect was placed under custody of Tabuk City Police Station for investigation and disposition. Both vehicles were impounded.
