TUGUEGARAO CITY, Cagayan — A dismissed policeman, his cohort and a
village councilman were arrested after peddling drugs to poseur buyers in Nueva
Ecija and Isabela provinces Monday.
Ex-police officer Jaypee Perez and his aide, Rey-an Bergonia, allegedly
handed the buyer four plastic sachets of shabu in Barangay San Mariano, San
Antonio town in Nueva Ecija.
Chief Supt. Amador Corpus, Central Luzon police director, said Perez is
included in the high-value target list.
In Isabela’s San Isidro town, Barangay Quezon councilman Joel Lapitan
was also caught after allegedly selling a sachet of shabu during a sting
operation.
Senior Inspector Reynaldo Junio, town police chief, said Lapitan
surrendered during the Oplan Tokhang in 2016 but returned to peddling drugs
before winning in the May 14 polls as councilor of Barangay Doña Paulina.
