BAGUIO CITY – The city
council will conduct a joint public consultation on Tuesday, July 31, from 8:30
am to 12 noon, at the Baguio City Hall multi-purpose hall on proposed ordinance
no. 0120-18 that further amends ordinance no. 01, series of 1990, (Amending
Ordinance no. 25, series of 1987, entitled, An Ordinance Codifying the Liquor
Ordinances in the City of Baguio, and for other purposes).
City council
secretary Brenner Bengwayan said the half-day activity aims to gather inputs,
recommendations and suggestions on the operating hours of all businesses with
amusement including night clubs and day clubs, cocktail lounges with
dancing, beer gardens/ houses with dancing, bars with
dancing, and duly-accredited tourist-oriented hotels with
restaurants, bars or discos.
Also included are
cabarets or dance halls, folk houses or folk dens serving beer
only, bar or coffee shops serving beer or liquor, disco
pubs, ordinary beer gardens with dancing, cocktail
lounges or bars without dancing, cocktail
lounges, restaurants with liquor, internet cafes;
computer centers and dart centers.
The city council
committees involved are those on laws, human rights and justice; appropriations
and finance; market, trade, commerce and agriculture; public utilities,
transportation and traffic legislation; ethics, governmental affairs and
personnel; urban planning, lands and housing; tourism, special events, parks
and playgrounds.
Also involved are the
committees on public protection, safety, peace and order; employment,
livelihood, cooperative and persons with disabilities; barangay affairs; youth
welfare and sports development; health, sanitation, ecology and environmental
protection; and the committee on social services, women and urban poor. -- Gaby
