Operator cheats death as backhoe falls down cliff

ITOGON, Benguet – A backhoe operator operating the machine on a road project cheated death but was injured when the vehicle tilted and begun to fall prompting him to jump out  from the cabin before it rolled down a 50-feet ravine here August 11 around 5:30 p.m.

Responding cops who rescued victim Rommel Salvador Suguitan, married of Irisan, Baguio City and brought him to the Tinongdan Hospital for treatment of laceration on his head said the incident happened at Sitio Linat, Dalupirip.

Salvador was later brought to Baguio General Hospital and Medical Center for X-ray and further treatment.

A few kilometers away from Dalupirip is the San Roque Dam in San Manuel, Pangasinan.
