Couple hacked to death in Kalinga


PINUKPUK, Kalinga -- Police have launched a manhunt for a militiaman accused of hacking to death his brother and sister-in-law here in Sitio Sagongab Palong, Barangay Taggay on Thursday. 
The bodies of Basiano Madayag and his wife Irene were found stuffed in two sacks and buried in a shallow grave near their house.
The suspect was identified as Rafael Madayag, 51.
The couple’s minor son told police he saw his uncle hit his parents with a wooden chair before hacking them to death.
The boy is under the custody of social workers for stress debriefing even as investigation into the killing is ongoing.

 One dead, two hurt in mishap

TUGUEGARAO CITY — A security guard died while two others, including a police officer, were seriously wounded after their motorcycle hit a truck in Barangay Maddarulug Sur, Enrile, Cagayan late last week. 
Police identified the fatality as Elmer Millo. His brother Jayson and Police Officer 1 Carl Bryan Pagulayan were rushed to a hospital.
Reports showed that the driver of the truck, Ely Lagman, was turning left when Elmer’s motorcycle crashed into his vehicle at 5:30 a.m. 
Lagman surrendered to responding police officers after the accident. -- Raymund Catindig 

 Man arrested for murder in Abra 

PIDIGAN, Abra – A man wanted for murder and frustrated murder was nabbed here Tuesday. Arrested was Hermogenes Dela Cruz Abad, 35, here of Barangay Immuli was warrant was issued against him by judge Raphiel Alzate of RTC Branch 2, Bangued, Abra. No bail was ordered by the judge for the first offense while P200, 000 was set for the second.

9 men cornered for illegal gambling

CAMP DANGWA, La Trinidad, Benguet – Police arrested 11 persons in Benguet and Baguio City for illegal gambling and drugs last week.
                Eight were nabbed playing pusoy Monday at Purok 21 Sariling Sikap San Carlos Heights, Irisan, Baguio City after a concerned citizen reported to cops the illegal activity.
Arrested suspects were identified as Rodrigo Gallezo Cortez, 62; Ronaldo Gallezo Cortez, 46, both taxi drivers; Jefferson A. Agustin, 43; Gil Dangsi Delos Santos, 53; Emil Gorez Carreon, 44, all construction workers; Chito Dupisen Payadkeo, 63; Audie Bias Demot, 45 and Samuel Fernandez Costales, 51, welder.
Confiscated from them were bet money of P2,850 and 52 playing cards.
In Buguias, Benguet cops arrested Marco Parahas Santos, 32, of Monamon Sur, Bauko, Mt. Province and Francis Fernandez Castro, 31 on Sept. 6 at  Barangay Abatan.
Confiscated were set of playing cards, and bet money amounting to P1, 350. 

Man nabbed for shabu

TUBLAY, Benguet – A certain Rex Guinomon Labutan, 28, truck helper was nabbed here Monday at Kapungan, Caponga for selling shabu. Confiscated from him wee buy-bust money amounting to P1, 000 two sachets of shabu and cell phone.

2 motorcycle drivers hurt in collision 

LA PAZ, Abra – Two motorcycle drivers were seriously injured when their vehicles collided here Tuesday around  7:45 p.m. along the Abra-Ilocos Norte Road here at Barangay Mudeng.
The fist vehicle was driven by Rey Tadeo Borillo, without driver’s license, 45, construction worker, of Barangay Quillat, Langiden town while the other was driven by Clitton Andolay Sumangpet, 31, nurse, of  Zone 3, Bangued.
Investigation disclosed Sumangpet was going south to Bangued, Abra while V1 was at the opposite lane (north direction) going to La Paz, Abra when V1 encroached the opposite lane, he accidentally bumped a road signage that caused collision with V2. Both drivers sustained multiple injuries. They were rushed to Abra Provincial Hospital for medical treatment. The motorcycles incurred undetermined cost of damages. The two drivers allegedly under the influence of liquor.

21-year old nabbed for ‘raping’ minor

CAMP OLIVAS, Pampanga — A 21-year-old man was arrested by police on Sunday night for allegedly raping a 16-year-old epileptic and mentally-challenged girl in Barangay Sampaloc, San Rafael, Bulacan.
Chief Supt. Amador V. Corpus, Central Luzon police director, identified the suspect as Mark Bryan M. Ayoman, 25, a helper and resident of Barangay Sampaloc.
Investigators said Ayoman allegedly paid a pimp at a restaurant and bar P300 and was offered the 16-year-old girl.
Corpus said the suspect took the victim to the backyard of a house and allegedly raped her, alarming dogs that began barking and roused the homeowner, Daniel Canoza, from sleep.
Canoza spotted the two at his backyard and called police who arrested Ayoman and discovered that he allegedly forced himself upon the teenage girl. – Franco Regala


Drug surenderee shot, escapes death

BANGUED, Abra – A drug surrenderee was shot and wounded here Tuesday by a still unidentified assailant. A police repot said the incident happened around
11:55 p.m. along Washington St., Zone 4 beside Bañez Commercial Building wherein the victim was identified as Jojo Piosca Arde, 25, of Barangay Sta. Rosa.
Investigation disclosed the victim was walking when shot. He was rushed to Seares Memorial Hospital by the responding cops and later brought to the Abra Provincial Hospital for further treatment.  

Uncle rapes niece

BAGUIO CITY – A man is being hunted for allegedly raping his niece here at no. 45, East Bayan Park.    
A police report said the case was only reported to them Tuesday by the 17-year-old victim, native of Purok 1 Boulevard Street, San Lorenzo, Mexico, Pampanga and presently residing at place of incident.
The victim filed complaint against her uncle identified as Abraham Caylao Dela Cruz, 59, unemployed, of San Luis, Mexico, Pampanga. Dela Cruz was also residing in place of incident.
                The victim told police she was molested by her uncle transpired around 2 p.m. of Sept. 1. Investigation disclosed the suspect entered the room of the victim while she was lying on the bed then pulled down the victim’s pant and inserted his right hand in her underwear and touches her vagina several times. The victim pleaded to the suspect to stop but he insisted on doing so until he satisfied his lust. The suspect immediately left after the incident.
Case is being prepared for filing against the suspect.

Leader of gun-for-hire group arrested

QUEZON, Nueva Ecija — An alleged notorious gun-for-hire group operating in Nueva Ecija and adjacent provinces was busted after the police arrested Sept.1 its leader and confiscated illegal guns and bullets from him.
In a report to Chief Supt. Amador V Corpus, regional director, said joint operatives of Nueva Ecija police and Regional Mobile Force 3 implemented search warrant which resulted to arrest of Douglas Javier, resident of Banana, Sta. Rita, Quezon, Nueva Ecija, of Del Rosario Criminal Group.
Said group is engaged in gun-for-hire and gunrunning activities in the province of Nueva Ecija and adjacent provinces, police said.
Confiscated during the operation were one 12 gauge shotgun, Cal. 22 rifle and several assorted ammunitions.
The successful arrest of Javier was a result of the PNP’s relentless surveillance and joint intelligence-driven operations.
Corpus lauded the operating troops for a job well done and he directed all police provincial and city offices to conduct an obstinate, efficient campaign and advocacy by implementing a wide-ranging proactive approach/strategy on their campaign against lawless elements. – Mar T. Supnad

Police clueless on slay in Ifugao 

ALFONSO LISTA – Police are still facing a blank wall on the killing of a resident here shot dead here 8:30 p.m, on Sept. 8 at the boundary of Namillangan and Calupaan barangays.
             The victim was named as Antonio Lara Cadiente, 45, married, of Sitio Pugo, San Juan. He was found lying on the ground with blood oozing from his head. A motorcycle with plate number 020106 registered under the name of the victim was found beside him.
             No evidence was lifted from the crime scene. Dr. Laurice Guilien, municipal health officer in a report said the victim was shot on his forehead with the bullet exiting at the the back of his head. 
  

Accident: PNP on Abra drowning

TAYUM, Abra – Police ruled as an accident the drowning of a 73-yar-old farmr here who was swept by current of the Malanas River in the boundary of this town and Dolores o Sept. 8 around 8:30 a.m.
The victim was identified as Santiago Gabino Valdez, of Poblacion, Dolores. A certain Jose Zapata Villareal, 61 of Poblacion, Dolores told police witnessed the incident.  
               Around 7 a.m. earlier,  the victim together with Villareal went to the river to gather pine wood. Around 8 a.m, they decided to return home. Villareal was the first to cross the river followed by the victim. Upon reaching the side of the river, Villareal saw the victim crossing the middle of the river holding a sack of pine wood being swept away by strong current which caused him to be submerged.
              Residents and firemen F03 Jerome Peralta and F01 Johnny Waking, recovered the body of the victim in Sitio San Vicente, Bagalay, Tayum, said PO3 John Stevan B. Domingo of Tayum police station.

Cases filed vs trike riders for nearly slaying man

ALFONSO LISTA, Ifugao – Charges were filed last week against two men fat the prosecutor’s office or mauling a man here who was nearly killed for overtaking them while riding a motorcycle.
The victim was identified as Normande Tolentino Edurese, 32, married, farmer of this town while the suspects were identified as Joey Limon, Richard Limon, and Jeric Quiambao, all residents of Sinamar Norte, San Mateo, Isabela.
Investigation disclosed around 4 p.m, of Aus. 19, while the victim was driving his motorcycle on the highway of Alfonso Lista, a motorcycle with sidecar overtook and almost bumped him.
The victim overtook the said motorcycle but they followed him until they stopped at a junction and a commotion ensued between them.
Suspects sped away but minutes later, they returned and attacked the victim using stones hitting the victim’s head. They kicked and punched the victim while he was lying on the ground. The suspects only stopped and escaped towards Isabela when they saw the victim unconscious. Suspects are still at large.

Minor denied bail for rape

TABUK CITY, Kalinga – A laborer was arrested here last week for rape. Nabbed was Collin Danao Mendoza, 16, here of Purok 6, Bulanao.
                 This, after judge Nicanor PascuaL Jr., RTC, 2nd Judicial Region, Branch 25 of Bulanao, Tabuk, Kalinga issued warrant against him. The judge denied bail to the minor.

Young man nabbed for rape

PUDTOL, Apayao – A cetain Inngu Denguray Dacquil, 18, single, laborer, of Delfin Albano, Isabela was nabbed here last week for rape.
Judge Felipe Jesus Torio II of RTC, Second Judicial Region, Branch 22, Cabagan, Isabela issued warrant earlier against the suspect with no bail recommended. The accused was brought to Delfin Albano where he is now languishing in jail.

Mechanic ran over by truck; dies

BOKOD, Benguet – A mechanic was recently ran over by a truck while he was repairing the vehicle underneath here in  Logdeck, Ambangeg.
The victim was identified as Christopher Himbadan of Tawangan, Kabayan, Benguet.
Investigation disclosed, the victim went under the truck and removed the propeller shaft but the truck suddenly moved forward and ran over him. The victim was rushed to the Dennis Molintas District Hospital but he was pronounced dead due to severe injuries on his head and chest. The victim repotdly did not put a wedge on the tire before he detached the propeller shaft.

Cops nab 3 most wanted persons in Ilocos region

CAMP FLORENDO, La Union — Police operatives have arrested the three most wanted persons in separate operations, it was reported here recently.
Chief Supt. Romulo E. Sapitula of the Region 1 police office identified the suspects as Rictor Ganase Pinmiiw, 24, a resident of Sitio Mabilabil, barangay Dinwede West, Cervantes, Ilocos Sur; Ronald Rico Ylagan, 33; and Joseph Rico Ilagan, 32, both residents of Sitio Tebag, Barangay Diaz, Umingan, Pangasinan.
Sapitula said that Pinmiiw, who is a top 3 most wanted person in Bakun, Benguet was arrested by virtue of a warrant of arrest issued by Judge Mario Anacleto M. Bañez of the 1st Judicial Region, Tagudin, Ilocos Sur Branch 25, for Violation of Sec 11 of RA 9165 on September 1, 2018 in Sitio Maliteng Sinacbat, Bakun, Benguet.
The police operatives in Region 1 had earlier discovered marijuana plants in Pinmiiw’s nipa in eradication operations initiated by Police Regional Office 1.
Pinmiliw is presently under the custody of the Bakun, Benguet Municipal Police Station.
Sapitula said that Ronald Rico Ylagan and Joseph Rico Ilagan, who are the top 3 and 4 most wanted persons in San Luis, Batangas, were arrested in barangay Poblacion West, Umingan, Pangasinan, on Sept. 4 by virtue of a warrant of arrest issued by Eutiquio L. Quitain, presiding judge of RTC Branch 5 in Lemery, Batangas without a recommended bail.
He said the suspects were charged for the crime of robbery with homicide.
The suspects were brought to the Umingan Police Station after undergoing medical examination and were properly turned over to the San Luis Municipal Police Station, San Luis, Batangas. -- Freddie Lazaro

Warrant for estafa served vs inmate

BAGUIO CITY – A female inmate at the city jail here was served warrant of arrest last week for estafa with no bail recommended.  Respondent was Cynthia Payasdo San Jose, 30, laborer, with address at Green Wealth Gold, Room 203, 2F Ramon and Delfina building, Lower Magsaysay Avenue, Baguio City.
Mona Lisa V. Tiongson-Tabora, presiding judge of Regional Trial Court, First Judicial Region, Branch 7, Baguio City issued warrant for her arrest.

Farmer jailed for robbery, frustrated homicide

TABUK CITY, Kalinga – A farmer was arrested here Monday for robbery with frustrated homicide. Nabbed was Lagasi Bon-as Bocad, 33 here of Barangay Nambaran.  Judge Bernabe Mendoza of RTC, 2nd Judicial Region, Branch 23, Roxas, Isabela earlier issued warrant for his arrest with bail set at P100,000.
