CAMP OLIVAS, Pampanga – The motorist who mauled a fellow motorist in a
road rage incident in Pampanga earlier this week was arrested by the police
Tuesday night in Tarlac City.
Jojo Valerio, 30, band singer and businessman of Quezon City was
arrested by elements from the Angeles City Police Office, Regional Intelligence
Division, Criminal Investigation and Detection Group, Tarlac Police Provincial
Office and Regional Highway Patrol Unit 3, Sr.Supt. Enrico Vargas, Angeles City
police director said.
A viral footage of the incident showed on Nov. 11, Valerio, aboard an
expensive sports utility vehicle with protocol plate number 8, assigned to
members of the House of Representatives, alighted from his vehicle and attacked
Jesusito Palma, 26 along McArthur Highway in Barangay Balibago, Angeles City.
The police said the suspect was infuriated after Palma, aboard a sedan,
allegedly overtook him abruptly.
He also allegedly claimed to be the son of a congressman.
The video footage of the incident, which was shared widely on social
media went viral, and was immediately acted upon by police authorities.
Valerio is now facing charges for serious physical injuries, grave
threat, usurpation of Authority and Violation of RA 4136 (Land Transportation
and Traffic Code).
