Truck falls off Baguio ravine; driver killed

BAGUIO CITY – The driver of a truck was killed when the vehicle lost its brakes here Monday around 12:30 p.m. along Circumferential Road between Bakakeng and Sto Tomas Proper.

Police identified the victim as Laurence Cura Centino who drove the ill-fated Jack truck bearing plate No.XM 2335. Investigation disclosed the truck came from Sto. Tomas Proper headed to Bakakeng when it lost its brakes. Around 1:40 p.m. Centino was brought by fire and emergency medical personnel to a health facility but was declared dead on arrival by Dr. Dandeo Halog.

Police said in a report the victim’s helpers were able to jump out before the truck fell on the ravine and landed on the creek.

Sagada bocap files libel raps vs writer

SAGADA, Mountain Province – The chairman here of Barangay Patay filed a complaint Monday with police against a journalist for libel. 

Police in a report said complainant Dennis Awingan Lopez filed the complaint against Claro Q. Esoen, journalist and a writer of the Mountain Province Exponent, a local newspaper.

Two publications in the newspaper titled “The Little Dictator of Barangay Patay” found on Vol. XIV No. 42 issued on July 7, 2019 and “House of “Sin” in Barangay Patay” dated August 4, 2019 were allegedly written by Esoen which insulted the complainant.

No bail for arrested Baguio rape suspect

BAGUIO CITY – A certain Jerome D. Versoza was arrested here Wednesday at Sunflower Street, San Luis for rape.

This, after Judge Mia Joy Oallares-Cawed of RTC, Branch 4 issued warrant against him with no bail.

Farmer wanted for rape in Kiangan traced in Kasibu

KASIBU, Nueva Vizcaya --- A farmer wanted for rape in Kiangan was traced by cops of the Ifugao town here who arrested him Thursday.

Nabbed at Sitio Locos was Oscar Licyayo Dulnuan, 43, married, of Pindongan, Kiangan. He was apprehended by virtue of warrant of arrest issued against him by Judge Romeo U. Habbiling of RTC Branch 14, Lagawe, Ifugao. Bail was denied by the judge to the accused.

Reckless imprudence lands man in jail 

HINGYON, Ifugao – A man was arrested here Thursday for threats and reckless imprudence resulting to serious physical injuries. Nabbed at Sitio Ilupuy, Umalbong was Rogelio D. Fernandez after Judge Modesto D. Bahul, Jr. of MCTC, Lamut, Ifugao issued warrant against him for threats with bail set at P5,000 and another P30,000 bail for reckless imprudence.

Woman held for grave oral defamation 

BAGUIO CITY – A woman was arrested here Wednesday at   Purok 6, Saint Joseph Village, Navy Base for grave oral defamation. The suspect, identified as Nancy E. Dangadang, was the object of an arrest warrant earlier issued by Judge Leody M. Opolinto of MTCC, Branch 3, Baguio City with bail set at P12,000.

 Man wanted in Baguio for attempted homicide nabbed

AGOO, La Union – Elements from Baguio, Cordillera and La Union police offices arrested here Wednesday a man wanted for assault and attempted homicide in the summer capital.

Nabbed here at Barangay Sta. Barbara was Cristian Del Prado Alvar aka Sadeek after Judge Emmanuel Cacho Rasing of RTC, Branch 3, Baguio City issued warrant against him with bail set at P200,000.

Another warrant was issued against him by Judge Roberto G. Mabalot of MTCC, Baguio City with bail set at P60,000.

 Man held for 3 estafa cases

BAGUIO CITY – A certain Marvin M. Rebolido was arrested here Wednesday after Judge Machel V. Francisco of RTC, Branch. 6, Baguio City issued warrant against him for three cases of estafa. The judge set bail of P24,000 for each case.

 Man nabbed for lasciviousness  

BANAUE, Ifugao – Cops arrested a man here Monday for acts of lasciviousness. Arrested at Sitio Iginnulat, Barangay Balawis, was Carlos B. Binwag after warrant was issued against him by Judge  Ester L. Piscoso-Flor of RTC Branch 34 Banaue, Ifugao.

The judge set bail of P200,000 for Binwag’s temporary liberty.

Paracelis man nabbed for lasciviousness 

PARACELIS, Mountain Province – Police apprehended a farmer here Monday here at Barangay Bunot for acts of lasciviousness. Nabbed was Ramon Betti Ludan, 32, married, after Gaslito A. Dumpayan presiding judge of First Judicial Region, MCTC Natonin-Paracelis, Natonin, Mountain Province issued warrant for his arrest.

Man held for illegal drugs in Tabuk

TABUK CITY, Kalinga – A man landed in jail after he was arrested here at Barangay Lacnog Tuesday for illegal drugs.

The suspect identified as Ramon P. Pullis was nabbed after warrant was issued against him by Judge Jerson E. Angog of RTC Branch 25, Bulanao, of this city. The judge denied bail to the suspect.

 Man wanted for attempted homicide nabbed in Isabela

RAMON, Isabela – Police nabbed here Tuesday at Barangay Burgos a certain Jeric Josue Quiambao for attempted homicide.

This, after arrested warrant was issued against him by Judge Jesse Harris B. Namuhe of MCTC, Branch 2, Ifugao. The judge set bail of P36,000 for Quiambao’s temporary liberty.

The accused was wanted in Alfonso Lista, Ifugao for the crime.

 Man arrested for child abuse

LA TRINIDAD, Benguet – Police cornered a man here at the Trading Post for child abuse. Nabbed was Marvin M. Bantolin, after Judge Marietta S. Brawner-Cualing of RTC Branch 9, Benguet issued warrant against him.

 P500-K bail set for woman in estafa case

BAGUIO CITY – A woman was arrested here Monday along Yandoc St., Labsan for estafa through falsification of public document.

Nabbed was Janice Aliping Julian, 34, married, self-employed, native of Banao, Bauko, Mountain Province, resident here of No. 169 Crystal Cave.

The arrest was made by virtue of warrant of arrest issued by Judge Roberto R. Mabalot Presiding Judge Municipal Trial Court in Cities First Judicial Region, First Branch Baguio City.

The judge set P500,000 bail for temporary liberty of the accused.

TABUK CITY – A certain Dante W. Baggas was arrested here Monday at Banneng, Calaccad for attempted homicide.

This, after Judge Nympha Abbacan of MTCC, Tabuk City, Kalinga issued warrant for his arrest.

 Man held at Easter School after Lapu-lapu judge issues warrant

BAGUIO CITY – A man wanted for bouncing checks was arrested here Monday in Easter College at Barangay Guisad.

Nabbed was Michael Gonzales Padlan after Judge Dinah Jane P. Gaceta – Portugal of MTCC, Branch 2, Lapu-lapu City issued warrant against him with bail set at P18,000.

BAGUIO CITY – A man was arrested here Monday at San Carlos for malversation. Nabbed was Donaven Suclad Caoili after warrant was issued against him by Judge Glenda Ortiz-Soriano of MTCC Branch 3, Baguio City. The judge set bail of P40,000 for his temporary liberty.

Woman held for falsified documents

BAGUIO CITY – Police arrested here Monday at Aurora Hill a certain Rowena Faye Cabusas Demot for alleged use of falsified documents. This, after Judge Leody M. Opolinto of MTCC, Branch 3, Baguio City issued warrant against here with bail set at P12,000.

Man in carnap case nabbed with shabu

TABUK CITY, Kalinga – A man wanted for carnapping was arrested here Monday at Cruz, Bulanao. The suspect identified as Jocel Andawey Sacayle was nabbed after Judge Bernabe Mendoza of RTC Branch 23, Roxas, Isabela issued warrant against him with bail set at P200,000.

Reportedly confiscated from Sacayle were 26 containing white crystalline substance believed to be shabu and drug paraphernalia.

BAGUIO CITY – A man wanted for attempted homicide was arrested here Monday at Block 4, Public Market.sThe suspect named as Jimmy V. Agaton was erlier issued an arreszst warrant by Judge Victor G. Manalo of MCTC, Branch 2, Labrador, Pangasinan. The judge set bail of P12,000 for his temporary liberty.

Student hurt after motorbike hits cable  

BAGUIO CITY – A student was injured when the motorcycle he was drving hit a rolled cable wire around 1:40 a.m. Tuesday along Lions Park, Gov. Pack Road.

The victim was identified as a certain Bobson T. Lopez, 19, native of Lingayen Pangasinan and resident here of  Camp 7.

Investigation disclosed the victim was driving his Yamaha Fino with plate number 6033 ZE headed towards BGH Rotunda when the accident happened. As a result, the victim was hurt on on his forehead and was brought by emergency medical service personnel inambulance and brought to Baguio General Hospital for treatment said police officers Matias and Malao
