LA
TRINIDAD, Benguet — Fourteen persons were arrested while P780,000 worth of
marijuana leaves were confiscated by police in the Cordillera on Oct. 21 to 25.
The
regional police office based here at Camp Dangwa bared this saying in Baguio
City, seven individuals were separately arrested in buy-bust
operations.
On
Oct. 21, Roderick Corpuz Carisma was arrested beside the skating rink at
Burnham Park, Legarda Road while Ariel Malabed Pescador, 19, was arrested along
Mission Road, Bakakeng Central.
Misuari P.
Bara-acal aka Opaw, 39, was arrested along Sunshine Park on Oct. 23.
The
following day, Jhon Carlo Abuan Caridad Aka Carlo Jay Carreon, 25,
and Jomar Hermosa Villanueva, 26, were arrested along Access Road, Old Lucban,
Happy Homes.
Three
more drug suspects were separately apprehended on Oct. 25.
They
were identified as Christopher Agilando, who was arrested at MH Del
Pilar, Burnham Legarda, while Jomar Navarro Gamboa and Kenneth
Marana Natividad were arrested along Paraan Street, Barangay Victoria
Village.
Five sachets of suspected shabu,
P4,000 buy-bust money, P2,000 boodle money, drug paraphernalia, and Yamaha Mio
motorcycle were confiscated from the suspects.
In La Trinidad, Benguet, police
caught Ryan Cabinta Lino in Barangay Puguis on Oct. 21
while Carmenchu Milagros Salvador, a.k.a. “Cheche” was arrested at
Galiega Building.
In
Buguias, Benguet, Alfredo Milagros Salvador, Jr. a.k.a. “Bojong” was
arrested at Zandro Bentadan Building in Barangay Abatan during
implementation of search warrant on Oct. 22, 2019.
Fourteen sachets
of suspected shabu, P1,000 cash and drug paraphernalia were seized from
the possession of said suspects.
Meanwhile,
three more individuals were arrested in the provinces of Ifugao and Kalinga.
Two
Eritrean national students identified as Saffi Mohamednur, 28, presently
residing at Veraville, Las Pinas City and Negash Abede Natnael, 23, a
resident of Leveriza St., Asiawealth, Pasay City were both arrested at
Poblacion West, Lamut, Ifugao on Oct. 22.
Jovenal
Linggayo Banisal was arrested in Purok 2, Bulanao Norte, Tabuk
City, Kalinga on Oct. 25.
Confiscated
from the possession of the two foreigners were 6.5 kilos of dried marijuana
leaves 6.5 valued at P780,000.
Two
plastic sachets containing suspected shabu and P2,000 buy bust money were
seized from Banisal.
Cordillera police director Brig.
Gen. Israel Ephraim Dickson said that these were the result of crackdown on
illegal drugs in the region. “This should serve as a stern warning to all other
persons who continuously involve themselves in illegal drugs. The police
regional police will not stop arresting all drug suspects or violators.”
