BESAO, Mountain Province --
The Besao Multipurpose Cooperative (BMPC), the lead proponent group for the
DA-PRDP-funded Mountain Province Arabica Coffee Enterprise (MPACE) is supporting
relief operations here arising from implementation of the enhanced community
quarantine (ECQ).
Together with the municipal local government unit, the BMPC had been coordinating
with suppliers of goods to be distributed to residents of Besao stuck home amid COVID-19 (New Coronavirus Disease
2019) pandemic.
Darlin Rodriguez, BMPC manager said facilities they acquired for the
implementation of their enterprise are now being used for the relief
operations.
“The truck is being used to transport food and other necessities from
the municipal boundary to the municipal hall for repacking. It is also being
used to deliver the goods to households especially those residing in the far
flung areas of the municipality,” she said.
Though there are no positive cases in the municipality or the province
as a whole, the BMPC has offered the MPACE coffee consolidation center located
at barangay Dumdumacog, Besao to be used as a temporary isolation facility for
COVID-19 Persons under Investigation (PUI).
“These are the least that what we can do to help our community in this
calamity,” added Rodriguez.
