BAGUIO CITY - - The Department of Social and Welfare and Development announced that the distribution of the Social Amelioration Program (SAP) cash subsidy for Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program (4Ps) beneficiaries in the Cordillera region started April 10.
A major component of the Bayanihan to Heal as One Act, the SAP provides emergency cash assistance to low-income households, including 4Ps household beneficiaries, to cushion the impact of the public health emergency due to COVID-19.
DSWD – Cordillera Administrative Region (CAR) Regional Director Leo Quintilla said there are 59,396 4Ps beneficiaries in the  region with 11,942   in Abra; 7,271 in Apayao; 2,921 in Baguio City; 10,966 in Benguet; 9,291 in Ifugao; 10,729 in Kalinga and 6,276 in Mountain Province.
Quintilla said each household beneficiary will receive P4, 150 which will be directly deposited to the Landbank EMV cash cards of the 4Ps beneficiaries.
He reminds beneficiaries to   follow social distancing and other health/safety protocols of the Department of Health and their respective local government units when withdrawing their SAP subsidy.
Those who do not have cash cards yet are advised to coordinate with the city/municipal link for the schedule of distribution and for any other inquiry or clarification.
DSWD - CAR Regional Director Leo Quintilla calls for the commitment and cooperation of local government units in ensuring that the Social Amelioration Program cash subsidy will reach  the  families that really need it. (CCD/PIA CAR)
Quintilla explained that P4, 150 is added to the P1, 350 health grant and rice subsidy of 4Ps beneficiaries to complete the P5, 500 SAP cash subsidy for CAR which is computed based on the existing regional minimum wage rate.
DSWD - CAR has initial amount of P1.3 billion for the implementation of the SAP in the Cordillera, he disclosed.
Quintilla said SAP targets 300,000 family-beneficiaries in the region. DSWD-CAR is now working closely with the different local government units in the region for the identification and registration of the other beneficiaries that include other poor families in the DSWD Listahanan database, special sectors of society such as persons with disability, solo parent and senior citizens, and other vulnerable groups and those in the informal sector whose work were affected by the ECQ.
