Ex-Pangasinan provincial board member succumbs to COVID-19

LINGAYEN,Pangasinan – A former provincial board member and a 25-year-old from Bani munipality were the latest coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) fatalities in Pangasinan.
In his Facebook post, Urbiztondo Mayor Martin Raul Sison II confirmed the death of his father Raul Sion, a former provincial board member, at the Medical City in Pasig City last Thursday afternoon.
“Ang huling punta niya ng Urbiztondo Pangasinan ay lamay at libing ng kanyang ina na si Bae Concepcion P. Sison noong January 20-30,” the young Sison posted on his page.
He also disclosed that the cause of his father’s death was listed as Acute Respiratory Distress Syndrome Secondary to Pneumonia.
He also said his father had undergone a heart procedure a few years ago.
The second fatality was a man from Barangay Ranao in Bani town.
He died at the Region 1 Medical Center, also on March 26.
According to reports, the patient had just come from Tondo, Manila, and was awaiting the result of his COVID-19 test.
As of 9 a.m., March 27, the number of confirmed COVID-19 cases in Pangasinan was six, with three deaths.
                The other three are still confined in hospitals.
There were 44 patients under investigation (PUIs), and 62,306 PUMs.
