PCSO gives P2.5-million aid to Baguio, Benguet General hospitals


ANTI-COVID ASSISTANCE– PCSO Baguio-Benguet Branch Manager Dr. Emeili Pampuan-Dancel, hands cheque worth P2.5 million to Dr.Ricardo Runez, medical chief of the Baguio General Hospital and Medical Center (BGHMC) and Dr. Meliarazon Dulay, acting chief of hospital of the Benguet General Hospital (BeGH) in support for needs of said hospitals in fighting the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) pandemic. 
BAGUIO CITY – The Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office (PCSO) in Baguio gave P2.5 million each to the Baguio General Hospital and Medical Center (BGHMC) and Benguet General Hospital (BeGH).

              PCSO Baguio-Benguet branch manager Dr. Emeili Pampuan-Dancel, handed the checks to BGHMC Medical chief Dr.Ricardo Runez, and BeGH acting chief of Hospital Dr. Meliarazon Dulay recently.
The amount was the PCSO’s fund support for the needs of both hospitals in fighting the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) pandemic.
Dancel said the amount could be used for the purchase of medical supplies and other primary needs to care for the COVID patients.
She said the amount was part of the P447-million Charity Fund Calamity Assistance Program (CAP) of the PCSO given as financial grant to 81 government hospitals that aims to boost the capacity of medical facilities in providing the needs of the patients.
“Labis kaming nagpapasalamat sa PCSO at napakalaking tulong ito para makabili kami agad ng ventilators at mga PPEs na magagamit ng aming COVID patients at medical staffs (We are thankful to the PCSO, this is a big help, we will be able to buy ventilators and PPE that COVID patients can use),” said Dr.Runez.
Dulay said they will use the money to purchase more ventilators because they also need to have more. Both doctors expressed gratitude for the PCSO aid which will go a long way in their fight for the COVID-19.
