SAN NICOLAS, Pangasinan
— A barangay here has been placed on lockdown after a resident tested positive
for coronavirus disease 2019 or Covid-19.
Mayor Alicia
Primicias-Enriquez ordered the lockdown of Barangay San Felipe effective 6 p.m.
on July 11.
The order was
issued after a 29-year-old man, who traveled to Antipolo, Quezon City and
Manila tested positive for Covid-19.
The patient
became the town’s first Covid case.
His relatives
will be prohibited from going out of their house.
The municipal
government, along with barangay officials, will provide the basic needs of the
family until the 14-day quarantine period lapsed.
Checkpoints
were established along the village’s borders to limit movement of residents.
