LINGAYEN, Pangasinan– This province posted its highest single-day number of confirmed Covid-19 infections on Oct. 3, with 115, the bulk of which came from the 79 cases recorded at a company in Sta. Barbara town.
According to the Provincial Health Office, aside from Sta, Barbara, the new cases were reported in Dagupan City, Urdaneta City, Malasiqui, Calasiao, Mangaldan, Manaoag, San Fabian,Bautista, Asingan, and Lingayen.
Sta. Barbara Mayor Joel F. Delos Santos confirmed 79 employees of the company he did not name, were confirmed positive for Covid-19.
Because of this, lockdowns and enhanced community quarantines were implemented in the town.
Placed under ECQ were Barangays Tebag West, Maticmatic, Banaoang, Carusucan and Ventinilla for 14 days. Delos Santos said this move was made in coordination with the regional inter-agency task force (IATF) on Covid-19.
That Saturday surge padded Pangasinan’s record of Covid-19 cases to 1,134, with 237 coming from Dagupan City.
Of this number were 657 recoveries, 439 still confined and 38 fatalities.
