LINGAYEN, Pangasinan – The Provincial Health Office here reported 17 new cases of Covid-19, as well as one fatality and 13 recoveries, on Oct. 5.
Four of the new cases came from Sta. Barbara town, while three others were from Dagupan City.
Two cases from Asingan both manifested flu-like symptoms, while a 28-year-old woman in Calasiao was asymptomatic.
Meanwhile, the lone fatality for the day was a 70-year-old man from Malasiqui.
The province posted 36 new cases of Covid-19 earlier on Oct. 3 with three deaths related to the disease.
This was disclosed by the Provincial Health Office, which reported that the latest fatalities were a 36-year-old male from Sta. Barbara, a 53-year-old male from Binmaley, and 66-year-old female from Labrador.
That brought the total number of fatalities in the province due to Covid-19 to 37.
PHO also reported a total 1,006 Covid-19 cases in the province, with Dagupan City accounting for 222 of those cases.
It also said 600 have already recovered from the viral disease, 369 were still confined.
Meanwhile, PHO also reported 83 percent or equivalent of 40 local government units or municipalities in Pangasinan still have active Covid-19 cases.
Of the 40 LGUs, 18 continued to be on the PHO watchlist due to the high number of cases being recorded in these areas.
These LGUs were Malasiqui, Dagupan City, Mangaldan, Calasiao, Bolinao, Lingayen, Urdaneta City, Sta. Barbara, Bugallon, Binmaley, Manaoag, San Fabian, Sison, Sual, Batutista, Mapandan, Balungao and San Carlos City.
