Sablan records 18 Covid cases; contact-tracing on

SABLAN, Benguet – This town has posted 18 confirmed Covid-19 cases with 10 active cases and eight recoveries with contract tracing- upped to find infected persons.
    Following this, the local government here urged its residents to submit personal information through logbooks when transacting business and riding public utility vehicles in this town.
    Mayor Manuel Munar Jr. cited need for community-based contact tracing through logbooks of municipal and barangay and private offices, business establishments and public utility vehicles. 
    In executive order 72 issued Oct. 5, Munar said data and information like name, gender, age, places visited in the past 14 days, residential address and contact numbers should be logged for contact tracing of visitors, clients, locally stranded individuals, and overseas Filipino workers.
    The Municipal Health Office said submission of accurate personal details would be very helpful in contact-tracing efforts when a Covid-19 positive is confirmed and recorded in the municipality. 
     The advisory was issued recently following the recent confirmation of a Covid-19 case in the nearby town of Burgos in La Union who had a travel history and possible close contacts in Sablan and Baguio City.
    Sablan recorded new Covid-19 case on Oct. 15, a 46- year-old female businesswoman residing at Suyoc, Banangan. 
    The mayor immediately imposed lockdown over the identified critical zones to contain residences located separately in Sitio Suyoc in Barangay Banangan, Sitio Amocao, Barangay Bayabas, and Sitio Tiniquey of Kamog effective Oct. 15.  -- JDP/RMC- PIA
