TUGUEGARAO CITY, Cagayan – The Dept. of Social Welfare and Development here said poor families are the priority beneficiaries of the second tranche of the government’s Social Amelioration Program (SAP).
They are the waitlisted during the first tranche and those identified by their respective local government units (LGUs) that were under granular lockdown.
ARD for Operations Lucia Alan bared these saying they were waiting for the list coming from local government units but to date, no one submitted.
“Our LGUs are now cautious in choosing would-be beneficiaries,” Allan said citing what happened during the previous SAP where Dept. of Interior and Local Government called the attention of some LGUs for irregularities in choosing beneficiaries.
SAP 2 beneficiaries are entitled to 5,100 financial assistance from the department until Dec. 22.
Brendan Jansen Tangan, regional information officer said there were around 676,098 beneficiaries who received subsidy out of 699,509 target. -- MDCT/GVB/PIA 2-Cagayan
