BAGUIO CITY – The Philippine National Volunteer Service Coordinating Agency (PNVSCA) through the National Economic Development Authority-Cordillera Administrative Region (NEDA-CAR) is now accepting nominations for Outstanding Volunteers this 2020.
This year’s search is for volunteers who have made significant contributions in addressing challenges brought by the Covid-19 pandemic.
Interested parties may accomplish the nomination form in this link: bit.ly//COVID19VolunteerNomination.
The deadline for submissions is Nov. 6.
The Search for Outstanding Volunteers is an annual event of the PNVSCA which cites groups and individuals across the country who have demonstrated the spirit of volunteerism.
The most outstanding volunteers are recognized every December which is Volunteer Month.
National awardees from the Cordillera included engineer Andres Ngao-i in 2016, Dr. Joanne Balderas in 2018 and La Trinidad Local Government Unit Disaster Risk Reduction and Management volunteers in 2019.
According to PNVSCA this initiative aims to recognize contributions of volunteers to the Covid-19 response, promote experiences and good practices of volunteers in responding to a pandemic and encourage the public to engage in volunteer work even in non-emergency/disaster situations.
These are efforts towards the PNVSCA’s vision of a society where volunteerism is a way of life for everyone.
