CAGAYAN— A municipal civil engineer of Pamplona town here
was arrested by authorities following the discovery of a pile of lumber at the
bank of Pamplona river.
Pamplona police arrested
Felicimo Bilas, 52, a resident of Brgy. Allasitan, Pamplona, Cagayan for
violation of PD 705, Anti-Illegal Logging, on January 13, 2021.
Joint elements of Pamplona Police led by Capt. Marlou U. Del Castilo, and the 2nd Provincial Mobile Force Company, were conducting anti-criminality operations when they discovered the pile of lumber.

Bilas arrived at the
scene and claimed that he was the owner of the lumber but failed to present
documents authorizing him to gather and possess the more or less 1,000 board
feet fresh cut lumber of common hardwood (Tanguile) .
This resulted in
his arrest and the confiscation of the lumber.
