SAN FERNANDO City – The provincial government
of La Union is set to allocate P139 million for its vaccination program to
procure 40,000 vaccine to augment those coming from the national government.
The provincial government of La Union created a vaccination task force and its technical working groups for the provincial Covid-19 vaccination program,
This, through executive order 1 series of 2021 issued by Gov. Francisco Emmanuel Ortega in amendment to EOs 15 and 16 series of 2020.
The task force will focus on vaccination plan such as the cost of the program, needed material and human resource, logistics and transport requirements, vaccine surveillance and monitoring.
Gov. Ortega said the task force will be included as part of the provincial core team against Covid-19 under the health emergency response, monitoring, evaluation and strategic communications committee.”
The task force will be headed by Dr. Eduardo Posadas of the Provincial Health Office as vaccination program coordinator with Noemi Jucar of the Office of Provincial Strategy.
Dr. Dan William Dacanay, medical specialist II, will be vaccination operations manager.
The technical working group will be composed of Alvin Cruz as head of the surveillance, contingency and risk management group; Adamor Dagang for advocacy and social communication group; Gerry Binas-o for registration, documentation and electronic data management group; Catherine France for procurement and budget group and Arven Camacho will be in charge of supply, logistics, cold chain and transport management group. --- PIA La Union
