LINGAYEN, Pangasinan — The chief of the
Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB) in Ilocos region
has been asked to explain his alleged inaction on a request of the provincial
government of Pangasinan to resume public transportation to Metro Manila.
Gov. Amado Espino III sent the letter-request on Dec. 29, 2020, fourth district board member Jeremy Agerico Rosario said Tuesday.
Rosario said LTFRB-Ilocos director Nasrudin Talipasan has yet to respond to the request of resuming the operation of the inter-provincial bus.
Espino noted in the letter that all local government units in Pangasinan were in favor of the resumption of the provincial bus operation.
He asked the LTFRB to issue special permits to the Five Star Bus Co. Inc., Victory Liner Inc. and First North Transit Inc. to operate on a limited capacity.
Rosario said public transportation including buses in other provinces in the region have resumed operations, but not in Pangasinan.
Rosario said they wanted Talipasan to attend their session and clear the issue.
