LA TRINIDAD, Benguet — The management of the
Benguet General Hospital (BeGH) here confirmed that its Covid-19 Ward is now
full.
According to BeGH chief Dr. Miliarazon Dulay, there are still many Covid-19 patients waiting to be admitted.
She said that there are 41 beds intended for confirmed cases but are now being used as there are watchers of patients that were allowed inside the hospital.
Dulay said there are critical and severe cases being treated as patients with moderate symptoms and even the asymptomatic ones are being brought to the quarantine and isolation facilities of the hospital.
She also said that once the conditions of patients with moderate symptoms and the asymptomatic patients worsen, they will be easily be brought to the main hospital building.
Because of its full capacity status, BeGH management is planning to add up its wards to accommodate more Covid-19 patients. Dulay said they are preparing the non-covid wards to be converted as covid wards. She said these will be opened on 7 April.
Dulay said they requested from Benguet Gov. Melchor Diclas and Department of Health Cordillera for funds for the purchase of equipment needed in additional Covid wards.
