Ifugao town closes tourist sites anew

MAYOYAO, Ifugao -- Tourist sites in this municipality were temporarily closed until further notice to address surging cases of Covid-19 in the province.
    As of April  12, Mayoyao recorded a total of 22 Covid-19 confirmed cases with 12 recovered and 10  active cases.
    For the province of Ifugao, provincial monitoring reported   total of 1,020 confirmed  with 504 active   cases, 685 recoveries  while 12 died.  
    Mayor Jimmy Padchanan, Jr.  said the Municipal Inter-Agency Task Force decided all tourist spots will be closed  to all tourists including residents of the municipality starting April 8 until further notice.
    This is for strict compliance and implementation, he said.
     These tourist sites   include the A’phaw Mahencha and  Tenogtog waterfalls, Museum, Mt. Nagchajan View Deck and Khohang Garden and View Deck. These were reopened  last  March 15 to residents  by virtue of executive order 2021 – 12 after months of closure due to the pandemic.
    Meanwhile, Padchanan urged residents to limit movements outside their homes for essential purposes only and strictly comply with basic health protocols. 
    He told residents to be vigilant in reporting any person entering the municipality coming from other cities or municipalities.
