Trinidad awards cleanest, greenest schools, villages

LA TRINIDAD, Benguet -- The awarding of “Search for the 2019 cleanest and greenest barangay and public elementary schools” in this town took place  after  being  delayed for a year due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
    Mayor Romeo Salda and Vice Mayor Roderick Awingan and Municipal Health Office head Dr. Antonette Agpas awarded  winners during flag raising ceremony of the municipal government on March 22.
    For the school category, Don Pulas Elementary School was  champion with P30,000 cash prize while  
Bineng Elementary School was second with P25,000. Longlong Elementary School was third while Lower Wangal Elementary School was  fourth  with cash   prizes of  P20,000  and  P15,00 respectively.
    For the barangay category: top winner was Barangay Lubas - hall of famer awardee (2017, 2018 and 2019) with  P55,000 prize.
    Second  place was  Barangay Alapang  while third place was Barangay Ambiong with prizes of P40,000 and  P30,000 respectively.  
    Fourth was Barangay Bahong  with P25,000 prize while fifth  was Barangay Alno with  P20,000.
    Also recognized were special awardees with P5,000.00  cash prize each.
    Ambiong  was most innovative barangay  while Balili was  best in Aksyon Barangay Kontra Zika, Dengue and Chikungunya.  
La Trinidad Central School got the  best canteen award. 
    Prizes would be used for the solid waste management program of the respective schools and barangays.
    The search was headed by the Municipal Health Services Office. – PIA Cordillera
