Cordillera posts more Covid-19 recoveries

BAGUIO CITY – The Cordillera Administrative Region has recorded more people who recovered from Covid-19 in a period of 10 days.
Consolidated daily statistics of the DOH-CAR show that from April 23 to May 2, the region recorded 3,955 recoveries as against the 2,655 new cases in the same period.
Most recoveries were logged in this city with 1,159, followed by Benguet province with 1,003.
Abra, which has the least number of Covid-19 cases, logged zero recoveries during the period. However, the province continues to be under modified enhanced community quarantine (MECQ) as a preventive measure from the possible surge due to mobility.
The increased number of recoveries has also improved the hospital care utilization in the region which was classified as high risk in March and April.
Dr. Ruby Constantino, DOH-CAR regional director, in a separate report on the status of hospital care utilization rate (HCUR), said the region is under moderate risk classification.
She said that as of May 2, the region’s hospital occupancy rate is 63.01 percent.
Baguio’s HCUR is 81.23 percent, Benguet at 79.75 percent; and Ifugao has 76 percent which was classified earlier under high risk.
Apayao has 68.89 percent, Ifugao has 68 percent; Mountain Province with 68 percent, Kalinga has 54.69 percent, and Abra with 12.50 percent.
Constantino said the HCUR reflects the number of available and occupied beds for Covid-19 patients only and not the full bed capacity of hospitals and infirmaries.
