2 killed, 12 hurt in highway crash


CABAGAN, Isabela -- Two persons were killed and 12 others were wounded when a vehicle they were riding in turned upside down while cruising the national road here in Barangay Balasig on Wednesday, July 6, police said.
Rosalyn Agabin died instantly when she was pinned by the car while Solitaria Agabin died at the hospital.
    Twelve others, including Erwin Datul, the driver of the car, were brought to the Milagros Albano District Hospital.
    They were identified as Marcelo and Rodolfo, both surnamed Agabin; Bernardo and Marita Laggui; Waldimar and Flordeliza, both surnamed Baui; Rowena, Leon Patrick and Ethan Dale, all surnamed Gammad; Monching Datul and Cris Mae Mercado, all of San Bernardo village in this town.
    Lt. Romel Aggabao, Cabagan chief investigator, said the victims were on their way home after attending the death anniversary of a relative in Fugu, Tumauini, Isabela when the car crashed.
    Volunteers and rescuers brought the victims to a hospital.
    Police were still investigating cause of the accident at press time.
