ARITAO, Nueva Vizcaya — Four men were apprehended for transporting undocumented finished G. Melina and Narra furniture that were intercepted at Dept. of Environment and Natural Resources checkpoint here in Barangay Calitlitan Monday morning, July 11.
Report from the Nueva Vizcaya Police Provincial Office identified the suspects as Rommel Pascual @ Rommel, 42; Albert Mananghaya @ RJ, 32 helper, both residents of 312 Calipahan, Talavera, Nueva Ecija.
The other suspects were Mario Ramones @ Jojo, 53, furniture carpenter, and Allan Guillermo @ BUBOT, 38, both residents of Centro 1, San Mateo, Isabela.
That Monday, DENR staff on duty at DENR checkpoint located along Maharlika Highway, Calitlitan, Aritao, Nueva Vizcaya requested police assistance when they intercepted a white vehicle owned and driven by Rommel Pascual.
The vehicle was loaded with finished products of G Melina and Narra furniture.
The furniture measuring an estimated 310 board feet had a total price of P123,500.
Maj. Oscar G. Abrogena, one of the raiders, asked for supporting documents of the intercepted products but the four suspects failed to present any.
Confiscated pieces of evidence are now under the custody of the DENR Office.
The accused were subsequently brought to Aritao Police Station for booking procedure while appropriate charges against them were readied for filing in court, said Executive Master Sgt. Allan T. Jalmasco, investigator-on-case.
