LUNA, Isabela -- A 20-year-old woman was shot and killed by his live-in partner in here in Barangay Luyao evening of July 3.
Lt. Col. Sherwin Cuntapay, Cauayan City police chief, identified the fatality as Lyka Mae Asirit, 20, of San Isidro, Luna, Isabela, and the suspected killer as Louie Desamito, 30, here of Barangay Luyao.
Cpl. Mark Jove, Luna police investigator, said the live-in couple had a fight at their farm in Luyao village.
Incensed, Asirit allegedly walked away from the argument but Desamito tailed her with his motorcycle and shot her two times in the head.
Asirit died instantly, the police said.
Luna police radioed neighboring areas to be on the look-out for Desamito.
Patrolling police in nearby Cauayan City later arrested Desamito, who admitted killing his live-in partner.
Scene of the crime operatives found five spent bullets of a Cal.45 pistol at the crime scene, but the gun was nowhere to be found.
Desamito refused to talk to the media but showed remorse during police questioning, claiming he was drunk when he shot her.
