Security guard posing as NPA robs store; nabbed

BAGUIO CITY - A security guard posed as member of New People’s Army (NPA) was arrested by police here after he was caught robbing a convenient store on June 27.
    Based on a report submitted to Cordillera police director Brig. Gen. Ronald O. Lee, the suspect was identified as Micheal Angelo Morella, 23, resident of nearby La Trinidad, Benguet.
    A Camdas Police Station investigation report said victims revealed  suspect Morelle entered the convenience store then he handed over a piece of paper to the store manager with a note.
    "Kami po ay mga NPA. Huwag sisigaw o kikilos ng masama. Carmelo Louise F. Juson buhay o pera and aming malilikom ay tulong sa NPA matagal ka namin pinagmamasdan," said the note.
    When the store manager did not pay attention, Morella got irked and pointed his firearm at the store crew.
    Morella detained other store crew in the walk-in room and instructed the store manager to put all the money from the counter worth P11,000 in his bag.
    Another customer noticed the incident inside the convenience store and reported the incident to city police office.
    Cops immediately responded and arrested the suspect.
    A Cal. 38 revolver loaded with five bullets was seized from Morelle who brought him to Camdas police station where he was detained.
    The suspect is no facing charges for violations of Article 293 of the Revised Penal Code or robbery with intimidation and Republic Act 10591 known as Comprehensive Firearms and Ammunition and Regulation Act of 2013.
