Cagayan mayor gets Covid-19

TUGUEGARAO CITY, Cagayan -- Mayor Maila Rosario Ting-Que of this city tested positive for Covid-19 and is now under isolation.
    In a social media post on July 31, Ting-Que said it was morning of July 28 when she fell ill and asked for an antigen test which came out negative.
    "Due to the progression of symptoms the next day, I decided to quarantine myself and had another antigen test morning of July 31 which turned out positive," she said.
    Ting-Que said she got confirmatory test through reverse transcription-polymerase chain reaction with the same results.
    She said health protocols are in place and they commenced contact tracing and disinfection of the mayor's office and common areas of the city hall have been done.
    "We apologize for the inconvenience this may bring to the people we were in close contact with during the course of our transactions for the government and the people," Ting-Que added.
    Ting-Que urged those who had close contact with her to call Dr. James Guzman at 09175781029 for concerns, especially for symptoms and testing.
    The mayor said transactions in the city government will remain as usual with the observance of the minimum health protocols as prescribed by the Inter-Agency Task Force for the Management of Emerging Infectious Diseases.
    "The office of the city mayor will continue to provide services to our people as I will perform my duties and responsibilities remotely," Ting-Que added.
