BAGUIO CITY – The city government is pushing sustainable entrepreneurship to address concerns on “urban decay,” traffic, pollution and water shortage problems among others.
The City Environment and Parks Management Office will hold a “green business exposition” whole month of September at Burnham Park as part of 2nd Saleng/Pine Tree Festival.
The exposition will highlight need for sustainability of businesses in the city in consideration to natural resources and its environmental impact which will form part in coming up with for cleaner and greener lifestyle.
The exposition is themed “Towards a greener entrepreneurship” to promote businesses or institutions that seek to achieve sustainability by creating environmentally-friendly products, services and research.
Those with sample activities, businesses, products and services or researches that are environmentally-friendly may join the exposition.
Entrepreneurial products or researches may focus on the following: construction materials; upcycled/recycled products; organic vegetables; fertilizers (less chemical usage); wastewater treatment processes; products/services/researches promoting reduce, reuse, recycle; solid waste/hazardous waste treatment; alternative waste treatment/recycling technologies; air, water, soil pollution treatment technologies; renewable energy products; and, other environmentally-friendly initiatives.
Interested participants are advised to visit CEPMO at City Hall and look for engineer Marivic Empizo, assistant CEPMO or forester Floro Bastian.
