Baguio sets online tech for business, transactions

BAGUIO CITY -- City officials recently adapted online platform technologies for easier business processing, encouraging business owners to sell their products legally with business permits in supporting the launch and implementation of any online programs facilitated by the city government.
Under Resolution No. 554, series of 2022, local legislators stated that online platforms provide easy access and advantages to business owners in processing their business permits.
The technology allows all business owners to create, acquire, and submit or pass the requirements needed when renewing or registering their businesses and products.
The council pointed out that the adoption of the online technology will encourage responsible business owners to comply with the required papers and documents and ensure that their businesses will not unnecessarily be closed due to the absence of business permits among other required licenses.
During the Scout Officials for A Day (SOFAD) regular session held on November 7, 2022, the SOFAD Council adopted the proposal of SOFAD Councilor Jahosheda Joy V. Jose which adopted technologies such as online platform to ease business processing and encouraging business owners to sell their products legally with permits.
According to the council, one of the reasons businesses are being closed by the city government is the alleged lack of necessary government permits to sell or to operate due to failure on the part of business applicants to comply with too many requirements and some unnecessary requirements per specific products or business that cause the processing of permits take too long to accomplish.
