PARACELIS, Mountain Province -- A former squad leader
of the New People’s Army surrendered to authorities here in Camp Henry Acmor,
Barangay Butigue on Dec. 8.
A report submitted to Brig. Gen. Mafelino Bazar, director of the Police Regional Office-Cordillera, said surrenderee “Ka Rogelio,” led the dismantled Platoon Remo, Central Front, of the Komiteng Rehiyon-Cagayan Valley.
Rogelio surrendered after a series of negotiations led by the Philippine Army 69th Infantry Brigade (IB), Paracelis Municipal Police Station, 2nd Mountain Province Provincial Mobile Force Company and the 1502nd Maneuver Company of the Regional Mobile Force Battalion 15.
He turned over a Springfield M1 Garand Rifle and a clip with three bullets.
The rebel returnee is now under custody of Alpha Company of 69th IB for custodial debriefing and disposition.
