Gen Azurin: PNP execs will submit courtesy resignations

PUGO, La Union – Philippine National Police Chief General Rodolfo Azurin, Jr. is confident all third level police officers will submit their courtesy resignation before the Jan. 31 deadline.
Azurin said that as of 9 a.m. Jan. 12, some 88 percent of target PNP personnel submitted their courtesy resignations now being processed and checked before they are submitted to the 5-man team committee for evaluation and assessment.
“As I mentioned earlier, this method is a huge challenge among the police and we have seen the responsiveness of our senior police officers to show their support in our campaign against illegal drugs,” said Azurin.
Azurin was here in Pugo for a ground-breaking ceremony in Barangay Cuenca, where a 2-storey Community Police Assistance Center will be constructed.
“We did this to show the public that we have nothing to hide or are biased against illegal drugs,” said Azurin.
“We submit ourselves to cleanse our ranks, to submit ourselves for evaluation and assessment and these senior officers of ours are our future leaders in the PNP who will face the public,” added Azurin.
