CAMP FLORENDO, La Union — Police arrested a national level most wanted person in a checkpoint along the National Highway, Barangay Poblacion Sur, Lidlidda, Ilocos Sur on Monday, Jan. 16.
Brigadier General John C. Chua, director of Police Regional Office Region 1, identified the suspect as Robert Manzano Y Lopez, 35, and a native of Lidlidda.
Manzano was listed as a most wanted person in the national level, with a monetary reward of P140,000 by the Dept. of Interior and Local Government under MC No. 2021-120 dated October 20, 2021 for his arrest.
Chua said Manzano was arrested by virtue of a warrant of arrest for murder issued by Judge Marita B. Balloguing, Presiding Judge, RTC Branch 20, Vigan City, Ilocos Sur.
The arrest of the suspect was realized after the police operatives headed by Lt. Col. Andrew P. Rabang, chief of the Provincial Intelligence Unit, received information the suspect was planning to travel from Mountain Province to Lidlidda town.
The suspect was arrested with collaboration of the Lidlidda town police station headed by Capt. Minerva Rabang.
