Over P1-M shabu seized in Cagayan

APARRI, Cagayan -- More than P1 million worth of illegal drugs was confiscated from suspected drug users in this town after they were served with a search warrant.
    The suspects who were only identified by the Aparri police as Marlindo and Lorna for their security were arrested by virtue of a search warrant for violation of Republic Act 9165 and RA 10591.
Police said the suspects were caught carrying and using shabu during a police search in Barangay Maura in this town.
    Among items confiscated from the suspects were 60 heat-sealed transparent plastic sachets of shabu weighing a total of 208.4 grams worth P1,424,800.
    Police also confiscated a.38 revolver handgun with two live ammunition, 90 grams of marijuana worth P10,000 and drug paraphernalia.
    Also arrested was a certain Charlie, a store owner and resident of the same village, for possession of illegal drugs.
    The suspects and the seized illegal drugs and paraphernalia were brought to this town's police station for documentation and proper disposition.
    In Nueva Vizcaya, a collector of a small town lottery in Barangay San Gillermoro in Bagabag town was also arrested during a drug buy-bust by the police.
    The Bagabag Police Station identified the suspect as Alma Sagauinit, 51 years old and a resident of Barangay San Pedro in Bagabag.
