3 arrested, P43.5 shabu seized in Baguio, Benguet

CAMP DANGWA, La Trinidad, Benguet -- Three drug personalities were arrested while P43,520 worth of suspected shabu was confiscated in Baguio City and Benguet March 6 and 7 in authorities’ buy-bust operations.
Reports submitted to Cordillera police director Brig. Gen. Mafelino A. Bazar identified suspects as Dexter Obial Balanza, 31; Sahranie Jamael Omar, 18 and a 17-year-old female minor.
    Balanza was arrested in Barangay Burnham-Legarda, Baguio City by Legarda Police Station 5 and Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency Benguet elements after he sold a sachet of suspected shabu weighing 0.4 grams worth P2,720 to a lawman who acted as buyer.
    In Benguet, Omar and the minor were arrested by joint operatives of the Regional Drug Enforcement Unit and La Trinidad police in Barangay Balili, La Trinidad, after they sold a sachet of suspected shabu weighing one gram worth P6,800 to a police officer.
    Another plastic sachet containing suspected shabu weighing five grams worth P34,000 was also seized from them.
    Inventory of seized items was witnessed by representatives from the Dept. of Justice, media and barangay officials.
    The suspects and confiscated items were brought to the custody of their respective operating units for documentation while charges for illegal drugs were prepared against them.
