BAGUIO CITY -- Mayor Benjamin Magalong reminded residents needing any form of assistance to direct their concerns to Baguio 911 helpline which operates 24/7 accessible either by direct telephone calls or through the Baguio in my Pocket (BIMP) application at https://www.baguioinmypocket.ph.
The Baguio City Command Center has so far responded to various emergency situations mostly medical cases, nuisance incidents and fire emergencies.
Twice the 911 personnel who were training to do
medical triage and administer first aid saved lives by giving first aid
instructions by phone.
One case last Jan. 30 involved a patient in
Trancoville barangay who reportedly had no more pulse. Through the
instructions of the 911 attendants given over the phone, the patient’s child
managed to do CPR and revived the patient before rushing him to the hospital.
Another incident involved a grandmother who was
choking but was saved through phoned in guidance by the 911 employees.
Baguio 911 calls emanating from Smart
Communications users can be directly received by the city’s command center
while those from Globe Telecommunications can also be received immediately from
national Emergency 911.
BIMP site is an alternative to direct telephone
calls in reporting legitimate concerns especially in the event of heavy call
traffic.
To report an incident, log on to https://www.baguioinmypocket.ph
and press the 911 button which will prompt the submission of a picture and
details of the incident.\
Concerns will be received by the command center
operators and dispatched to appropriate offices after validation through a
phone call to the source of the information with guarantee for protection of
his/her identity.
The informant/complainant will also receive
feedback from the command center on the status or action done on the
report.
