Indian
Ambassador to the Philippines, His Excellency Shambu S. Kumaran, held a press
briefing with members of local media to discuss prospective commercial
collaborations and investment opportunities in the province at Plaza Del Norte
March 26.
The provincial government of Ilocos Norte, through initiative of Gov. Matthew Marcos-Manotoc, aims to create an avenue for local businesses to thrive while showcasing promising opportunity available for investment by partnering with the Government of India.
The event was participated by Indian stakeholders, namely business leaders from pharmaceuticals, healthcare, agriculture, automobile, agro-chemicals, irrigation, Information Technology-Business Process Management, and renewable energy among others.
“The businesses of both countries are beginning to look at each other with greater interest [and] we in the government and in the embassy, are also very keenly trying to create greater B2B (Business-to-Business) interactions,” Ambassador Kumaran said.
To demonstrate the dynamism of the Indian economy and businesses to Filipino counterparts, Ambassador Kumaran said the main problem both countries confront is the lack of awareness of the potential and strength of the other.
