HAPPY WEEKEND
Gina Dizon
Jesus Christ rose up from the dead and brought life to all - the helpless, the suffering, the downtrodden, the sick, the powerless, the struggling soul, and the discontented. If you are not one of the above, you are blessed, give thanks.
Jesus rising from the dead sends the sign that there is always hope for better days, better chances, better times, better life . ‘Better’ means fulfilling and happy relationships – platonic, erotic, friendship, family, community- made full by a spiritual relationship with the Saviour.
It also means a fulfilling relationship with a job or a career. When you love your job whatever this is, satisfaction comes from it and you will gain more- promotion, friends, connections, and contentment with what you love doing whether or not you are promoted.
I didn’t say ‘better’ to having a bigger house, latest model computers or cars, mansions, jewelries, and all material things which man can buy. Material things can be gained anytime and anywhere. These can be bought, break down , get repaired, stolen, or thrown away. Relationships stay.
For sure, you would not want your friend, daughter, son, wife, husband, or someone else to be bought, stolen away from you, break down or thrown away. Would not want to be preachy and tell you to respect your relationships, whatever these are.
Much as you gave a part of your life, it means you also respect yourself. Towards the end, need I say, you gain peace of mind, have more meaningful relationships as man is a social being, believe and live more with and in Christ.
And so this is Easter. It means hope to everyone and everything. Jesus Christ meant that life is to be hopeful and joyful about. Like a candle, life is meant to light up darkness and not put in a hidden place.
To life! L’chaim! HappyEaster!
