Seven jeep passengers hurt in Sablan accident

SABLAN, Benguet -- Seven passengers here were injured when a passenger jeep turned upside down here after ramming a mountain April 25 at about 4 p.m.

The jeep, loaded with 20 passengers with plate number AYA 917 driven by Ernesto Lampato Barawa, 63, came from Baguio City when the accident happened at Sitio Dalayap, Pappa.

The seven injured passengers were including the driver identified as Ernesto Lampato Balawa were Viola Bestre, 52; Florenda Bestre; Amalia Amuyos, 54; Norma Liwag, 48; Elisa Baldo, 78 and Bastilla barawa, 51.

Based on investigation conducted by Sablan police, the jeep was while going down when its brake malfunctioned prompting the driver to ram the left side of the mountain.

All victims were treated by Dr. Judith Codamon, municipal health officer of Sablan and brought later to a Baguio hospital for further treatment.
