LINGAYEN, Pangasinan – Gov. Amado T. Espino, Jr. has expressed his full support to President Aquino’s leadership as he commended him for his “Pilipinas Natin: Asenso Para sa Lahat “ partnership campaign which was launched during the celebration of President Aquino’s first year in office at the PhilSports Arena in Pasig City on June 30.
On invitation from Malacanang, Espino attended the launching of the Aquino administration’s new partnership program together with the Pangasinan delegation composed of some members of the Sangguniang Panlalawigan, department heads, chiefs of hospitals, local government officials and members of youth groups over 300.
The Pangasinan delegation, clad in yellow shirts printed with the Pangasinan vision, was the biggest delegation among some of the local government units that were invited during the program where President Aquino delivered his first year report.
The governor commended the program saying the President’s vision to reawaken the sense of moral values of the people reaffirms an honest-to-goodness commitment to organize and widely share rapid expansion of the government through a leadership scheme which is dedicated to mobilize the people using their skills in harnessing the country’s natural resources.
Pilipinas Natin program is a campaign for partnership between the government and the Filipino people irrespective of their political affiliations for the sake of national progress.
Espino said the program can bring together a unified effort between the government and the people to bring the country into greater heights of progress stressing that shared responsibility plays a crucial role towards development.
More than 8,000 youth leaders and multi-sectoral volunteers were among the spectators inside the Philsports arena and thousands of other enthusiastic crowd gathered at the grandstand of the sports complex to witness the event.
The President was joined by Vice President Jejomar Binay, Executive Secretary Paquito Ochoa and other Cabinet secretaries.
After the program launching, the Governor together with the rest of the Pangasinan delegation proceeded to Funeraria Paz in Sucat, Parańaque City for the necrology rites of Josephine “Jo” Ramos-Samartino, the second child of former President Ramos.
