BAGUIO CITY— The Cordillera office of the Department of Social Welfare and Development ordered the delisting of 197 purported indigent families from its existing list of beneficiaries of the controversial multi-billion Conditional Cash Transfer (CCT) program considering that they are not actually poor families.
Based on the recent reassessment conducted by the agency, the delisted families are not actually considered poor families since they have legitimate sources of income thereby putting doubt on the credibility of the program that aims to alleviate poverty in the countryside in the coming years.
Leonardo Reynoso, DSWD regional director, said the delisted families are composed mainly of families with regular monthly income, because of their stable jobs considering that they are government workers among others.
The delisted families underwent re-assessment through the program’s grievance redress system.
