TABUK CITY, Kalinga --
This province honored two of its sons who were among the “Fallen 44”
through resolutions passed by the SangguniangPanlalawigan.
Honored in
separate resolutions were Police Senior Inspector Cyrus Paleyan Anniban and PO1 Russel Bilog for having exemplified
the three cardinal principles of the Philippine National Police’s noble
fraternal organization, leadership, friendship and service.
Resolutions No. 017
and 18 honored and recognized Anniban and Bilog for
“gallantry, valor and exemplary display of service to the nation and expressing
condolences to the bereaved family’.
Anniban and Bilog were
among 44 PNP-Special Action Force who were killed, 13 of them were
Cordillerans, last Jan 25 in Mamasapano town in Maguindanao in a clash
with Moro Islamic Liberation Front members in Mindanao.
The remains of Anniban
was buried at Bulanao cemetery this city after a necrological service at
capitol and mass offered at St. Joseph Cathedral.
Gov. Jocel Baac. in
his sympathy message, appealed to netizens to stop criticizing President
Aquino as he is doing everything to bring justice to the 44 fallen heroes. “The
President is doing his job, let us stop speculating and wait instead for the
result of the ongoing inquiry,” he said.
