TABUK CITY, Kalinga -- This province honored two of its sons who were among the “Fallen 44”    through resolutions passed by the SangguniangPanlalawigan.

Honored in separate resolutions were  Police Senior Inspector Cyrus Paleyan Anniban  and PO1 Russel Bilog for having exemplified the three cardinal principles of the Philippine National Police’s noble fraternal organization, leadership, friendship and service.

Resolutions No. 017 and 18 honored and recognized Anniban and Bilog  for “gallantry, valor and exemplary display of service to the nation and expressing condolences to the bereaved family’.

Anniban and Bilog were among 44  PNP-Special Action Force  who were killed, 13 of them were Cordillerans, last Jan 25 in Mamasapano town in Maguindanao in a clash with  Moro Islamic Liberation Front members in Mindanao.

The remains of Anniban was buried at Bulanao cemetery this city after a necrological service at  capitol and mass offered at St. Joseph Cathedral.

Gov. Jocel Baac. in his sympathy message,  appealed to netizens to stop criticizing President Aquino as he is doing everything to bring justice to the 44 fallen heroes. “The President is doing his job, let us stop speculating and wait instead for the result of the ongoing inquiry,” he said.
