Porridge downs 16 in Ifugao

ALFONSO LISTA, Ifugao -- – At least 16 students and teachers were hospitalized after eating lugaw (porridge) served after participating in the simultaneous earthquake drill in Alfonso Lista town in Ifugao on Wednesday.

The victims suffered vomiting, nausea and chest pain, according to a report received by Senior Inspector Ernesto Beketan, Alfonso Lista police chief.

The report said the victims are under observation at the Potia District Hospital.

The Alfonso Lista Rural Health Unit is investigating the incident. – Raymund Catindig
