LAGAWE, Ifugao -- Seven
business establishments in the province were cited by the Dept. of Trade and
Industry for being customer-friendly and awarded the Bagwis seal.
DTI-Ifugao
Director Valentin Baguidudol conferred the Bronze Bagwis Seal to KN Grocery and
IGEMCO Social Enterprise both in Lamut; Azel Homeplus and Gen. Merchandise and
Lianrick Hardware and General Merchandize in Alfonso Lista; Mama’s Care Grocery
in Banaue; Lagawe Drugs and Commercial and RGB Computers, Cellshop and
Enterprises in this town.
The Bagwis award
aims to give due recognition to establishments that uphold the rights of
consumers and practice responsible business.
Baguidudol
explained that the Bagwis Award is classified into Gold, Silver and Bronze
using various parameters.
The seven
establishments have complied with the parameters for Bronze Award like
compliance with consumer laws, consumer relations and services and store
management/operation, he said.
The Bagwis
awarding was done during the launching of the Consumer Welfare Month on October
1.
Other
activities lined up for the month-long celebration include the
conduct of the rice joint task force monitoring, eco-walk and infographics
making contest in Baguio City, provincial quiz bee for junior high schools. --
