ROSARIO, La Union –
Rodolfo Balagot, a 58-year-old tricycle driver of this town, once again created
a ‘gimmick’ to terrify his passengers this coming Halloween on Nov. 1.
Balagot said
that he makes this kind of gimmick every Halloween season, observed in the
Philippines at the end of October and during All Saints Day on Nov. 1 and until
All Souls Day on Nov. 2, for the enjoyment of his passengers.
He decorates
his tricycle with plastic flowers resembling funeral wreaths and a
frightened-looking character “Death” in the front and back of the vehicle, plus
other scary-looking masks while playing Michael Jackson’s “Thriller.”
Balagot’s
trike is also grabbing attention from people along the streets while he picks
up passengers around the business district area. “I just want to show my fellow
residents how grateful I am to be a good tricycle driver,” he said, adding that
he wants to help promote his town’s tourism as a comfortable and a loving town.
Also known as
the “Valentine driver” because he also had an innovative idea for his trike
during Valentine’s Day that went viral on social media, people expect Balagot
to come up with his Halloween trike.
Balagot is a
resident of barangay Udiao in this town with his wife
