Travel permits for APORS renewed

BAGUJIO
CITY --- Drivers of the 357 jeepney units with Special Transport Permit
operating during enhanced community quarantine will receive P300 per scheduled
trip or P600 a week as financial assistance from the city government.
The
financial assistance will be implemented starting Monday, May 4 until May 15,
2020.
The city government came up with
program after the Land Transportation Office apprehended drivers collecting at
least P20 as fare of market goers during the ECQ period.
Mayor Benjamin B. Magalong said
with the financial assistance, drivers will revert back to collecting the
minimum fare rate of P9 following Department of Transportation guidelines.
Only 10 passengers per travel
will be maintained in consideration to social distancing. Driver and passengers
should wear face masks outside of residence.
The Public Utility Jeepney (PUJ)
Association will have to get a Barangay Certification stating thay they were
utilized to ferry market goers which will be the basis in the transfer of the
fund from the city to the association and subsequently to the drivers.
Meanwhile, the City Engineering
Office is preparing its economic recovery program for the transport sector to
ensure smooth transition from ECQ to general community quarantine after May 15.
Meanwhile, due to the extended
ECQ until May 15, all APOR, Errand Services and Food Services , issued from
April 13 and onwards, having a validity until April 30, are automatically
renewed until May 15, subject to possible changes should the need arise.
Those with above-mentioned travel
permits need not apply for renewal.
Meantime,
holders of relief travel permits who are seeking for a renewal may proceed to the
Office of the City Mayor, subject to further assessment and instruction.
The city mayor’s office has also
released updated list of locked down barangays/areas as of 6 a.m. April 28: San
Luis Extension, Barangay San Luis, ) Woodsgate Subdivision, barangays Camp 7
and San Vicente; Purok 1, Camp 8; Teachers Village, Sto. Tomas Proper; Sitio
Sto. Nino, Bakakeng Central; Sector 5,
Dominican-Mirador and BGH Compound .
